Handheld Bruker XRF instruments have become a valuable tool in the analysis of soil samples with a range of applications. The ability to rapidly (30-60 seconds per sample) and accurately analyse the soil with a non-destructive method that requires no sample preparation means that projects can begin almost immediately.

Handheld XRF instruments cover a range of elements and can provide accurate and precise data for dangerous elements including lead, uranium and arsenic. With an analysis area of 5 mm in diameter and a penetration depth of up to 1 cm, a representative composition of your sample can be obtained with a single scan in less than a minute. Running a quick analysis (30 second scan) can generate results that provide a good indication for pass/fail testing. A longer 60 second scan time will provide accurate data that can be used to trace particular elements in the sample.
